Rottnest Island

Rottnest Island is a beautiful island near Perth. I took the ferry to get there.

I rented a bicycle and rode around the island.

I went to lots of nice beaches.

Rottnest Island has animals that are called quokkas.

They are small animals. They look like small kangaroos or giant rats.

The first European who landed on the island thought they were rats and so he called the island “Rat’s nest” (Rottnest).
