Lots of people from Italy, Greece, Turkey and Vietnam live in Melbourne, so there are many great Italian, Greek, Turkish and Vietnamese restaurants. Sydney has good seafood restaurants and most cities have many Japanese restaurants.
Meat is a popular food in Australia (Aussie beef) and having a barbecue is a very popular Australian pastime. Most big parks have public barbecues that people can use. My family has a barbecue at home and during summer, my father barbecues food once or twice a week.

Vegemite

Vegemite is a famous Australian food. It’s a spread that you can put on toast or on a sandwich. It’s black and very salty. It’s a yeast extract and has a very strong taste. I love vegemite and eat it for breakfast every morning. But many foreigners hate vegemite.

Tim Tams

Tim Tams are chocolate biscuits that are very popular in Australia. They are very sweet and come in a variety of flavors.

Pavlova

Pavlova is a cake popular in New Zealand and Australia. It’s a very sweet meringue cake and is usually decorated with fruit such as strawberries.
