I think compulsory voting is a good idea, because it makes people more interested in politics. It also helps keep out extreme groups.

If voting isn’t compulsory, then people who are more extreme (strange right-wing groups for example) have more of an influence because they are more likely to vote.

Given low turnout in Japan, Japan should introduce the law that you get fined if you don’t vote as your country does. I’m afarid that there are many adults who aren’t interested in politics. I don’t say “Let’s be an expert at politics.”, but we should express opinions by going to vote.
