Hi Yuko,

I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to visit Australia to see the animals. As a foreigner, that's what stands out about Australia.
But the advertising shouldn't just rely on that.
One of the reasons (there are other reasons as well) that there aren't as many Japanese visiting Australia is that they have already been to Australia, seen the animals and it's not a priority to come back.

A lot of foreigners want to visit Japan to see the temples and shrines, which of course are interesting. But there are other reasons to visit Japan as well.

The Moomba festival is in Melbourne. I don't think it's a particularly interesting festival. There's a street parade. Even as a kid, I thought it was a boring festival.

Have fun,
Aidan.

Hi Aidan,

I'm sorry to say this, but I want to go to Australia one day because I want to enjoy nature there as many Japanese do. I should learn more about Australia other than animals...

I remember an Australian guy saying "Mumba(?) festival is fun". I had never heard about the festival, though...

Sincerely,
yuko
